Go for the KL Free Guided Walk if you have the time to spare in Kuala Lumpur. Join one of the four free guided walk around the city to appreciate the heritage, culture and natural surroundings of the city. These guided tours are organized by Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau which has been set up to promote tourism in Kuala Lumpur.

Announcement: Effective 1 May 2018, these guided walks are no longer available as KL Tourism Bureau has decided to terminate it indefinitely. Ask your tour agents to take you to these places instead. You can also DIY.

KL Free Guided Walk Trail One: Kuala Lumpur Heritage Trail

This trail will take a duration of 2.5 hours with the starting point at Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, Dataran Merdeka. There are 11 historical sites that you will discover on this guided tour.

KL City Gallery - Built in 1898
Music Museum - Built in 1919
Merdeka Square or Dataran Merdeka - Previously known as Selangor Padang
Former Union Jack Flagpole - Replaced with Malaysia Flag at midnight of 30th Aug 1957 when Malaysia gained independent.
Victorian Fountain - Built in 1904
National Textile Museum - Built in 1905
Sultan Abdul Samad Building - Housed Federated Malay States administration in 1897
City Theatre or Panggung Bandaraya - formerly City Hall and built in 1896
Former High Court Building - Moorish building built in 1909
The Cathedral of St. Mary - Anglican Church built in 1894
Royal Selangor Club - This club was established in 1884
Kuala Lumpur City Library - Public library built in 1989

This trail will take a duration of 2.5 hours with the starting point at Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau, Jalan Tangsi. See the 8 historical landmarks and the oldest forest reserve in the city.

This trail will take a duration of 3 hours with the starting point at Kelab Sultan Sulaiman, Jalan Dewan Sultan Sulaiman, Kampong Bharu. See the cradle of Malay culture in Kuala Lumpur.
