KL On Bicycles


If you have been wanting to explore KL on bicycles, you can now do so conveniently with the launched of Kuala Lumpur By Bicycle in March 2013. Many countries such as Netherlands and even Taiwan have infrastructures that cater for cyclists to cycle safely within the cities.


Here are the bicycles that you can rent to explore the city of Kuala Lumpur.Bicycles for rent at Dataran Merdeka.

With the growing concern for the environment, many NGOs and governmental organizations have initiated many programmes to encourage the general public to save fuel, reduce pollution and care for the environment. 

This tourism programme that is initiated by KL City Hall aimed to promote cycling as a way to explore the city of Kuala Lumpur to tourists and locals. If you choose to rent the bicycles, you will be provided with a safety vest, safety helmet, bicycle lock and a route map.

Currently, the Nature route map is made up of 2 zones namely The Heritage Zone and The Park Zone. Heritage Zone will take you to historical places of the city and Park Zone will take you to the many parks around Kuala Lumpur.

There are 2 packages being offered with different rental rates. A refundable deposit of RM100 will be collected for every bicycle.


Free and Easy Cycle

This is a self guided bicycle tour with RM10 per hour or RM30 for the first four hours and RM5 for every subsequent hour. 


Guided KL On Bicycles Tour

This guided tour is a tour where you will be provided with a headphones to listen to the commentary given by the tour guide. The rental price is RM45 per person with a minimum of 8 persons to a maximum of 10 persons.

Taking Your Bicycle on LRT/Monorail

If you want to explore the various cities of Malaysia, you can now take your foldable bicycle with you on the LRT Trains and Monorail Trains during the off-peak hours from 9am to 4:30pm and after 7pm on working days. The foldable bicycle must be placed in the bag.


Bicycle Racks At LRT Stations

There are also bicycle racks that have been built to park your non-foldable bicycle as you are not allowed to take it with you when you use the LRT trains. The LRT stations that have this facility to park your bicycle:
