Penang Starwalk 2015

Sign up for this walk in Penang and join the fun. This 7km non-competitive walk will start at Penang Times Square on 13 Sept 2015, Sunday @7am. Entry fee is RM13/person. Register at Penang Times Square information counter@ground floor from 10am to 9pm daily.

MATTA FAIR Sept 2015

The second MATTA FAIR of 2015 in Kuala Lumpur will be held from 4th-6th Sept 2015 at PWTC from 10am to 9pm daily. Go and book your year end holidays and enjoy great savings. Entrance fee is RM4/person and free admission for children below 12.

Mountain Bikes Event PCC-Maxxis Presidential Ride

All mountain bikers, take note that there will be a 55km ride in Semenyih to be held on18 Oct 2015. Registration fee is RM70.

Floria Lifestyle

See the various species of flower which will be held at Anjung Floria, Precint 4, Putrajaya from 28-31 Aug 2015. It will be open to the public from 9:30am to 9:20pm.

National Museum Volunteers

If you are keen to join as volunteer of Muzium Negara, there will be a talk on 5 Sept 2015 at 10am. Venue is at MV Room, Muzium Negara, Kuala Lumpur. MITM Travel Fair 2015

This travel fair will be held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from 14-16 August 2015. Admission to the fair is free. Plan to attend if you intend to travel at the end of the year as there will be many promotional packages for you to choose from.

KL Orchid & Bonsai Show 2015

See the many species of bonsai and orchids at the KL Orchid & Bonsai Show 2015 from7-16 Aug 2015. Venue is at Perdana Botanical Garden. It will be open from 9:30am-7pm during weekdays and 9:30am-10pm during the weekends(Sat & Sun). Activities organized include orchid & bonsai contests, photography, flower arrangement and fun run.

Electric Train Service Ipoh-Padang Besar

Effective 10 July 2015, you can now take the ETS from Ipoh to Padang Besar for RM44 one way. Currently the train will leave Ipoh at 5am and reaches Padang Besar at 9:15am. The train will stop at Butterworth for 40 minutes.

The return train from Padang Besar, Perlis will start at 2pm and arrives Ipoh at 6:50pm. It will stop at Butterworth for 75 minutes.

Johor Sentral-Singapore Shuttle Train Service

Good news to all commuters between Johor Bahru and Singapore. Starting 1 July 2015, a new shuttle train service between Johor Sentral and Woodlands Station will be launched. It will be offering 14 trips daily from 5:30am-10pm at JB Sentral Station and from 6:30am-11pm at Woodlands Station. One-way fare from Woodlands is S$5 and return trip from Johor Sentral is RM5.

FRIM Open Day

Forest Research Institute Of Malaysia will be having an OPEN Day on 6 June 2015 from 8am-1pm in conjunction with World Environmental Day and FRIM's 30th anniversary celebration. Stamp Fair

There will be a Stamp Fair from 6-7 June 2015 at Petaling Jaya Community Library, Section 3 from 9:30am-5:30pm. This event is organized by the Philatelic Society of Malaysia. Admission is FREE. Call +60 12-6797 931 for more details.

Royal Floria Putrajaya 2015

This year's theme is "Tapestry of Hues" featuring over 400,000 types of flora will be held at Anjung Floria, Precinct 4, Putrajaya. It will be on from 30 May 2015-7 June 2015, 9am-10:30pm(Mon-Thurs) and 9am-12:00midnight(Friday-Sunday). Entrance fees are RM5/adult and RM1/child.

Spring and Winter gardens will be featured here for the first time. Entrance fees to each garden are RM3/person.

Ipoh Starwalk 2015

Join the walk in Ipoh on 14 June 2015 which will be flagged off at Indera Mulia Stadium@7am. You can sign up at The Star office in Ipoh by 30 May 2015. Entry fees are RM13 per person.

Gila-Gila Exhibition

The famous Gila-Gila monthly magazines was founded in 1978 by Jaafar Taib and is still being published today. The works of the cartoonists are now on display at Galeri Petronas in KLCC. It will be on until 15 July 2015 from 10am-8pm. Open daily except Monday. Admission is free.

Vehicle Entry Permit From Singapore Fee

All foreign registered car owner, take note that effective 1 August 2015, a VEP fee of RM 20 will be charged to all vehicles entering Malaysia from Singapore through the Second Link Expressway in Tanjung Kupang and the Causeway in Johor Bahru. Plan your trip wisely.

National Museum Volunteers

If you would like to volunteer as guide for Muzium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, a talk entitled "Newcomer's Information Session" will be held on 12 May 2015, 10am at the MV Room. Further training will be provided. Call Karen Loh at 012- 203 9126.

KL Tower International Towerthon Challenge 2015

Run and climb on the 2058 steps of KL Tower and win prizes. Final day of registration is 11 May 2015. Entrance fees will be charged depending on the categories you are joining.

Bird Watching Event - Kuala Kubu Baru

This event called Wings of KKB: Selangor Bird Race 2015 will be on from 24-26 April 2015. This bird watching race is divided into 5 categories. It will start at KKB town and end in Genting Highlands. Visa-Fee Free (VFF) For Chinese Tourists

The government had announced a visa-fee free for Chinese tourists coming to Malaysia. This move is to encourage more Chinese tourists to visit Malaysia. Take note that although the visa-fee is free, application for a visa is still require to enter Malaysia.

Visa On Arrival for Indian and Chinese Tourists

If you are a Chinese or Indian tourists coming in from Singapore to Malaysia through the Second Link in Tuas, you can now apply for Visa On Arrival for a seven-day visa. Payment for the VOA is RM300.

School Term 2015 Delayed

Due to the severe floods in some states of Peninsular Malaysia, the new school term for 2015 will start a week later than scheduled. School will now start on 11 Jan 2015 for states of Johor, Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah. For other states, school will start on 12 Jan 2015.
