Section 17 in Petaling Jaya is one of the places that many students who are studying in University of Malaya and other colleges stay. If you are thinking of taking lunch here, you may want to consider going to Wong Kee Chicken Rice Shop. This shop is located near Seventeen Mall.

Roast chicken, roast pork and barbecue pork

This shop serves roast pork, barbecue pork and roast chicken. The specialty of this shop is the roast pork which is roasted until the skin is crispy. It is cooked to perfection and almost all patrons will order it. You can choose a combination of the meat individually or share with your friends. Its popularity is so high that you will have to queue up to order.

The queue will start about 12pm hence if you do not want to wait for too long, come at about 11:45am. This is also a self-service shop where there will be no waitress to take your order. The order is taken and deliver on the spot to you before you find a place to sit.

There is another shop on opposite the Seventeen Mall, Section 17 which is serving the same food but is not as crowded as this shop. Shows how well known this shop is. The locals know where to get good lunch.

The barbecue pork is best taken with the caramel sauce that is provided. Chilly sauce is also provided and can be taken with roast chicken.

The soup is also provided free of charge. The other dish that is the signature dish is the sour and spicy vegetable. Some will like the taste of this dish but others may not be so used to it as it is quite sour. You just have to try it to see whether the taste suits you. Order a small portion to try.

Budget about RM10-RM15 per person for your meal here. This no-frills shop has a simple setup without air conditioner or other extras. Hence this is a good place to have your lunch if you do not mind the simple ambient.
